THE PSALM OF FRIENDSHIP OR OPTIMISM, WHICH IS BEING READ FOR FRIENDS AND MENTORS

It has so much positivity that any psalm doesn’t have. It reads in one breath.

Psalm 19 is the prayer of the peoplehood for their king. The Jewish people ask the Lord to hear David and to have mercy on him, to give him victory over his enemies. We see in the words of the psalm the absolute faith of people that David's actions are faithful and pleasing to God.

Psalm 19 can be called as a "psalm of friendship." We should read it for our friends, like-minded people, leaders, mentors when they need support and help: in difficult situations, illnesses etc.

And just as David was inspired by the prayer of his people, so our sincere friendly prayer can support and inspire loved ones in a difficult time. The main idea of the psalm is that in any situation we need to rely not on your own strength, but on God's help.

May the Lord give ear to you in the day of trouble; may you be placed on high by the name of the God of Jacob

The Israelites do not rely on their own strength, but they rely on God, Who is the main and one protection.

May he send you help from the holy place, and give you strength from Zion
May he keep all your offerings in mind, and be pleased with the fat of your burned offerings; May he give you your heart's desire, and put all your purposes into effect. We will be glad in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will put up our flags: may the Lord give you all your requests.

The words of the devoted people to the king are full of confidence in victory, optimism, cheerfulness, although the enemy's forces are in large excess over their own army. And this confidence cannot but be transmitted to the king. Faith truly creates miracles and overcomes any obstacles.

Now am I certain that the Lord gives salvation to his king; he will give him an answer from his holy heaven with the strength of salvation in his right hand.
Some put their faith in carriages and some in horses; but we will be strong in the name of the Lord our God. They are bent down and made low; but we have been lifted up.

Let the enemy make boast of his proverbial strength, weapons, tough horses and sturdy chariots, not doubting the coming victory at all (because he considers his military might to be the vote of confidence). But the Israelites will make boast of the name of the Lord and put their trust in Him. The most powerful armies suffered crushing defeats and were put to shame in the face of God. And the one who is with the Lord will stand, and he still will stand straight to the end.

Come to our help, Lord: let the king give ear to our cry.

The psalm speaks not only about the victory of King David over the enemy, but also about the final victory of good over evil, life over death. The 19th psalm seems to anticipate the mood of Easter morning.
