How to react on military rumors? Because it’s almost impossible to distance yourself from them, especially if you live in the territories involved in the conflict.

In this situation, first of all, we must remember the words of the Lord about the last times of the earth's history: "And news will come to you of wars and talk of wars: do not be troubled, for these things have to be; but it is still not the end." (Matthew 24:6).

Do not be troubled – this is the main call of the Lord. There have always been and will be many terrible and tragic events in the world. We are not the first to experience this. But for all christians of all ages, this call of Christ sounds: "don't be troubled."

But how can we not be troubled? The Lord further says: "For nation will be moved against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and men will be without food, and the earth will be shaking in different places; But all these things are the first of the troubles. Then they will be cruel to you, and will put you to death: and you will be hated by all nations because of my name. And numbers of people will be turned from the right way, and will give one another up and have hate for one another. And a number of false prophets will come, causing error. And because wrongdoing will be increased, the love of most people will become cold. But he who goes through to the end will get salvation." (Matthew 24:7-13). As we can see, even more terrible trials wait for christians. But the most important message is: "he who goes through to the end will get salvation."

In other words, we cannot stop what is destined before the beginning of times. However, by our trust in the Lord, by our sincere prayer to Him, by our patience, we can be saved. This should always be kept in mind.

Now, when all the new terrible rumors are striking the imagination of people, we must pray and, most importantly, do not participate in the spread of these rumors ourselves. The most important thing we can do for our neighbors is to support the weak onesin the course of our strength and capabilities — with prayer, alms, mutual assistance. But in no case we should participate in inflating conflicts, multiplying fears, spreading panic. Our task is to bring peace, calm and silence.

May the Lord help all the suffering, the frightened, the lost in these days! May our patience strengthen, through which we will be saved.
