We cannot determine the true causes of all types of natural disasters and catastrophes. You can't explain everything logically.

But one thing is indisputable: all of them are a clear indication to people of their stubbornness in their rejection of God.Humanity is bluffing: it continues to fight with God under plausible pretexts.

Christians should try to stay away from the maelstrom of changing events. Everything flows and changes, but it's easy to lose yourself.

It is not for nothing that when a ship crashes, it is recommended to swim away from it as far as possible, otherwise you will be dragged into a funnel. In the same way, various events leave waves around that can captivate and absorb. Everything that happens in our life should be a kind of changing background, and a constant reality — communion with God.

The Lord has repeatedly urged His faithful to stay away from depraved and deceitful people, those who are against God and His commandments.

In Deuteronomy, for example, we read how the Lord destroys numerous nations.

“When the Lord your God takes you into the land where you are going, which is to be your heritage, and has sent out the nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you;

And when the Lord has given them up into your hands and you have overcome them, give them up to complete destruction: make no agreement with them, and have no mercy on them:

Do not take wives or husbands from among them; do not give your daughters to their sons, or take their daughters for your sons.

For through them your sons will be turned from me to the worship of other gods: and the Lord will be moved to wrath against you and send destruction on you quickly.” (Deut. 7:1-4).

Often such lines are perceived as something outrageous, unacceptable for a loving God. However, any evil is always interrupted by God. The world is created and guided by God's will, and everything that opposes it perishes.

We also observe an extreme degree of moral degradation in modern society: the cultivation of debauchery, vices and perversions; the promotion of false humanism and the deliberate destruction of Christian humanity; the planting of egoism and pride, and so on.

All these outrages occur for the time being, they have their limit and end. The denouement will certainly come. From the previous history, we can see that there will be a number of warnings in the run-up, as in chess — first a check, and then a checkmate — but will the world see them, will it change?

We, Christians, have something that no one can take away, that the world can not destroy, absorb and accept. This is the word commanded by the Lord:

If you have love for me, you will keep my laws. And I will make prayer to the Father and he will give you another Helper to be with you for ever, Even the Spirit of true knowledge. That Spirit the world is not able to take to its heart because it sees him not and has no knowledge of him: but you have knowledge of him, because he is ever with you and will be in you. (Jn., 14:15-17).
