What to do to save yourself?

"Don’t let your eyes rest or your eyelids close. Free yourself like a gazelle from the hand of a hunter and like a bird from the hand of a hunter» (Proverbs 6:4-5).

The words of proverb [1]remind us about the important deed without which salvage is unreal. A Christian must always be awake. He shouldn’t relax spiritually. Never.

What does it mean?

It means that we can’t take credits for some achievements because it’s lie. There can’t be our own victories on the spiritual front. All good things happen due to God’s mercy and His blessed support.

We are infirmand weak, and only this feeling must be our regular self-awareness. As soon as the realizing of our own strength, power, wisdom appears, it’s needed to prick up ears because, possibly, we fell into a trap, and unwittingly we got into demon’s nets.

The enemy always sets his seeds. It takes some time to notice them. He tries to steal our vigilance, to disarm us. He covers evil by kindness and right. Once you let one untruthful intention in — and you’re already rolling into the abyss where it’s so hard to find an exit from.

The spiritual vigilance is our compass. It points us at right way and warns from wrong and slippery slopes. We should be careful, we should keep a close eye on all  that happens in our life and around. Every thought should be checked, why it’s done, where it leads to. It must be regulated with time and ceaseless prayer to the Lord. Regular sobering, vigilance and prayer will make us uncatchable for enemy’s forces.

Proverbs are always an actual fount of wisdom, smart and cautionary adages gifted us by the Lord. We need to come back to them with mind and heart, tasting the perfect soul food which strengthens and charges.
