The Lavra honored the memory of His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir
The funeral services on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the ever-memorable Primate of the UOC was headed by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, the hierarchs and clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church performed funeral services for His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir (Sabodan; +2014). On November 23, 2020, the ever-memorable Vladyka would have turned 85, according to the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
At the Liturgy in the Academic Church of the Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary in honor of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, the Primate was co-served by the Managing director of the UOC Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary, Metropolitan Kliment of Nezhin and Priluky, Bishop Viktor of Baryshevka, Bishop Silvesterof Belogorodka, Bishop Ambrose of Zgurovsk, Bishop Mark of Borodiansk. The Governor of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Metropolitan Paul of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl also took part in the litiya at the grave of His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir.
After the service, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry addressed the audience with a short speech.
«On the birthday of the late Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir, we gathered to honor his memory as a man who loved God. He was devoted to God and was the Primate of our Church for over 20 years, did a lot for the Church, developed it both spiritually and quantitatively. He was a wonderful man with many talents that allowed him to do what he did. We fondly remember the labors, deeds and prayers of His Beatitude», – noted the Archpastor.
«Today, marking the 85th anniversary of his birth, we prayed that the Lord would rest his soul in the villages of the righteous, that the Lord, through his prayers, would grant peace to our Church, our state and each of us. Eternal memory to His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir!» – concluded by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Flowers were laid at the grave of His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir.
