The best quote from Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh about love

About the great power given to us by God – Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich).

«Where there is strife – there is no love, where separation – there is no love... And where people overcome strife in the name of Christ, they remain inseparable with each other in the name of Christ, despite the fact that it is not always easy for us with each other, there will be victory for Christ and the Spirit…». There is love.

In the above words of Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh, the main definition of love sounds: love is peace in the name of Christ. Sometimes it’s not easy to achieve it, sometimes at the cost of incredible efforts, on the verge of human capabilities.

If there are disagreements on minor issues, differences in views and tastes, but there is unity in Christ, then all disputes and contradictions can be resolved.

Love is a great power that can resurrect, create, overcome and inspire.

Everything in life is comprehended by love. A person does not fully realize what power he/she is endowed with from birth.

Many gifts have been given to us from God. But the main thing is the immense, colossal potential of love. There is a reservoir in every heart that can contain the One who is Love.

But if we do not fill this reservoir with good, gratitude, it fills with trash and evil.

It is easy to recognize a person who holds the gift of love. By the delicate, flowing aroma, we determine that somewhere in the vicinity flowers grow and smell. It is the same with people. A person in whose life there is Christ can be recognized by a loving and merciful heart, by the goodness, the joy that he radiates around. «By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another» (John 13:35).

If we talk about love, but don’t show it, then our words are worthless. We love only when we fill our whole life with love: actions, words, thoughts. We have to fill it up. As autumn rain nourishes the land that has dried up during the summer, so love should nourish our dry, callous souls and give fruit.

***

It is impossible to live, work, or pray without love.
Real prayer only comes from a loving heart.

We pray for the living, worrying about them and compassionate, we ask the Lord to have mercy on them, to comfort and heal them. We pray for the departed out of love for them, hoping for the mercy of God in relation to them and to their lot. We thank God for life and His mercies, in reverence for Him.

Prayer is the language of love. Prayers don’t come from an evil heart. Prayer is born in love.
